Laura Mancebo is a Board Certified* Forensic Document Examiner. She is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she earned her bachelor's degree in Forensic Science. Laura is employed by a major metropolitan police department where she has received extensive training in all aspects of Forensic Document Examination. Additionally she received supplemental training from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service. Laura continuously keeps abreast of scientific advances and regularly attends professional meetings. She has also been asked to serve on many occasions as meeting chairperson.

A Forensic Document Examiner FDE is a forensic scientist who scientifically studies various physical details and elements of documents in order to identify their source or to determine their authenticity or integrity. Document examiners help lawyers by examining and offering written opinions on a variety of disputed document problems. Lawyers benefit also from an FDE's specialized knowledge of literature in the questioned document field. This knowledge will assist lawyers in preparing meaningful direct examination questions for their own expert witness and cross-examination questions for opposing experts.
