Traci L. Moran
Forensic Document Examiner
Traci Moran is a Board Certified Forensic Document Examiner. For over 12 years, she was employed as a Forensic Document Examiner by the U.S. Secret Service Forensic Laboratory in Washington, DC. She graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Forensic Science degree, and later returned to teach the Questioned Documents Course in the very same graduate program
Traci has examined a vast and varied array of questioned documents. She has testified in both State and Federal courts of law around the United States. She is certified by and is a member of the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners (ABFDE) www.abfde.org. Additionally, she is a member and serves on the awards committee of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists (MAAFS) www.maafs.org.
A Forensic Document Examiner FDE is a forensic scientist who scientifically studies various physical details and elements of documents in order to identify their source or to determine their authenticity or integrity. Document examiners help lawyers by examining and offering written opinions on a variety of disputed document problems. Lawyers benefit also from an FDE's specialized knowledge of literature in the questioned document field. This knowledge will assist lawyers in preparing meaningful direct examination questions for their own expert witness and cross-examination questions for opposing experts.
